How do I edit, add, or delete segments in an analysis plan?
After generating a Video Analysis Plan, you can fine-tune each segment to get exactly the camera movement you want. Every segment is editable — you can change the move type, timing, framing, and more.
Editing a segment
- In the plan review list, tap the segment you want to edit.
- The Segment Editor opens with the title "Edit Segment."
- Modify any of the following:
Time Range
- Start slider — Change when the segment begins (0 to endTime - 0.5).
- End slider — Change when the segment ends (startTime + 0.5 to startTime + 30).
- Duration — Displayed as "Xs" (read-only, calculated from start and end).
Movement
- Move Type — Choose from Smooth, Dolly In, Dolly Out, Reveal, Pan, Tilt, Handheld, or Locked.
- Weight — How heavy the camera feels (Light/Snappy to Very Heavy).
- Ease In — Acceleration percentage at the start.
- Ease Out — Deceleration percentage at the end.
Start Camera (beginning of the segment)
- Pan X — Horizontal position (0–1, where 0.5 is center).
- Pan Y — Vertical position (0–1).
- Scale — Zoom level (1x–5x).
- Rotation — Tilt in degrees.
- Reset to Center button — Quickly center the camera.
End Camera (end of the segment)
- Same controls as Start Camera.
Notes
- A text area for your own notes about the segment.
- Indicators for whether the segment has subject tracking data or has been manually modified.
- Tap "Save" to apply your changes, or "Cancel" to discard them.
Adding a new segment
- In the plan review, tap the add (+) button.
- A new default segment (3 seconds, Smooth move type) is inserted.
- The Segment Editor opens so you can customize it.
- Adjust the time range, movement, and camera positions.
- Tap "Save."
Deleting a segment
- Open the segment in the Segment Editor.
- Scroll to the bottom.
- Tap the red "Delete Segment" button.
- Confirm the deletion.
Alternatively, on the plan review list, swipe left on a segment (iOS) or right-click → Delete (Mac).
What happens after editing
- The plan preview updates automatically to reflect your changes.
- Segments you have modified show a "User modified" indicator.
- The modified segment count is shown on the plan review list.
Previewing your changes
After editing segments, always preview the plan again by tapping "Preview Plan." This plays through the entire plan with your changes applied. You can return to editing if something does not look right.
Tips
- Edit one segment at a time and preview after each change to build up the plan gradually.
- Use the "Reset to Center" button if a segment's camera position drifts unexpectedly.
- Adjust easing to control how the camera enters and exits each segment — smooth segments feel more natural.
- If a segment has subject focus data, the AI may have placed the camera to follow a subject. Modifying the position may break subject tracking.
- Save frequently. Your edits are not saved until you tap "Save" in the Segment Editor and then "Apply" on the plan.
